Durham County's Real and Personal Property Listing Form must be returned by January 31 of each year.
Failure to list your real and personal property will result in a 10% penalty.

Failure to list your real and personal property will result in a 10% penalty.
Real estate owners are required to use the listing form to report any changes to their real or personal property such as:
- Any new buildings, additions, improvements and/or deletions which occurred during the preceding calendar year. These changes must be reported whether made by you or someone else.
- Any manufactured homes, campers, boats, boat motors, jet skis, personal watercraft, or airplanes that you own.
- Un-tagged or un-licensed vehicles (Do not list tagged vehicles) that you own.
- Furnishings and appliances provided by you to your tenant(s).
- Personal property used in a business, trade, profession or farm activity.
- Farm Equipment

If you are 65 years of age or older you may qualify for the Elderly or Disabled Exclusion Program or for the Circuit Breaker Homestead Exclusion Program [AV-9]

If you are an honorably discharged veteran who has a 100% service-connected disability or who receives benefits for specially adapted housing (There are no age or income limitations for this program) you may qualify for the Disabled Veteran Exclusion Program [NCDVA-9]

If you are the owner of real property that is used for historic, religious, charitable, literary, or scientific purposes, you may qualify for the Property Tax Exemption Program [AV-10]

If you are the owner of 10 or more continuous acres of land that is currently in production, you may qualify for the Present Use Program [AV-5]
