The mission of the Security Division of General Services Department is to provide protection for County employees, customers, facilities and properties.  The Security Division  provides a variety of services including: contract uniformed security officers (armed, unarmed and Company Police), vulnerability/ threat assessments; intrusion monitoring systems; security cameras; crime prevention through environmental design; Lock & Key; security awareness, education and training.

County Convenience Sites to Close Due to Weather Conditions

Durham, NC – Durham County General Services will close its four Solid Waste Convenience Sites at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, due to Hurricane Florence. Sites will reopen Monday at 7 a.m., as weather and road conditions allow. 

 

Roadside Recycling scheduled for Thursday, September 13 (Schedule A) will continue as planned, weather conditions permitting. Friday’s service has been postponed until Wednesday, September 19 as conditions allow.

 

Residents are encouraged to sign up to receive emergency notifications directly at https://alertdurham.com, and to follow AlertDurham on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for continuous information and emergency updates about City of Durham and Durham County operations throughout the duration of this storm.
