Roll Cart Recycling Coming to Unincorporated Residents

Post Date:07/02/2014 1:00 PM
Durham, N.C. – The Durham County Board of County Commissioners approved the County's Budget for the 2014 -2015 Fiscal Year on June 23rd enabling the expansion of the County's Roll Cart Recycling Pilot Program for the unincorporated areas of Durham County. Participants of the County's eight month Roll Cart Recycling Pilot Program serviced on the Monday A and Tuesday B Routes can continue to use their 95 Gallon Roll Carts.

The Durham County Solid Waste Division is working with Waste Industries in finalizing the next steps of the Roll Cart expansion to additional households. At this time it has not been determined which routes on Schedules A & B or which households located in the unincorporated areas of Durham will be next to receive the 95 Gallon Roll Carts. A tentative start date for the next phase of the switch out from the 18 gallon recycling bins to the 95 Gallon Roll Carts is mid to late Fall, 2014 which is dependent on the manufacture and procurement of the additional roll carts.

For the latest updates on the next phases of the Recycling Roll Cart Expansion, visit the County’s Solid Waste Division on the web at www.dconc.gov/recycling, like the Division on Facebook at Durham County Recycles, for the Division’s Twitter page at @DurhamCoRecycle or call the Solid Waste Information Line at (919) 560-0433.
