Lakewood Shopping Center COVID-19 testing site to close March 31

The final day of COVID-19 testing in the Durham, NC Lakewood Shopping Center (2000 Chapel Hill Rd.) will be March 31, 2023. Testing will no longer be available in this location beginning April 1. Testing at this site is provided by vendor Optum Serve through the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) with FEMA funding. This site will close alongside all NCDHHS vendor-supported no-cost testing events and static testing sites statewide on March 31, in preparation for the end of the federal public health emergency for COVID-19 on May 11, 2023.

 

Free at-home COVID-19 tests will continue to be available for pickup at the Durham County Department of Public Health, located at 414 E. Main St., Durham, NC, Mondays and Fridays 9:00AM-1:00PM, and Wednesdays 12:00PM-4:00PM. These tests are available for pickup by all people age 18 and older, no ID required. Individuals are not required to be Durham residents to pick up these tests.
