Juvenile Petition Obtained in Rosemont Parkway Shooting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DURHAM  (05/12/2022) -  On the evening of Wednesday, May 11th  at approximately 9:20 p.m. deputies from the Durham County Sheriff's Office patrol division responded to the report of a shooting on the 7600 block of Rosemont Pkwy in Durham County. When they arrived, they located one male, approximately 22 years of age with a gunshot wound to the leg lying in the street. Deputies rendered aid to the victim until EMS arrived and transported him to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.  

Information developed from independent witnesses on scene led investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) to the home of a male juvenile suspect. It was determined that the suspect was at another location, where they were located and taken into custody without incident.  

A juvenile petition on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill was obtained in this case and they are being detained in a juvenile facility. 

The Sheriff's Office thanks witnesses on scene for their cooperation during the investigation which resulted in a speedy conclusion.  


The following information was released on Wednesday, May 5, 2022, at 9:24 p.m,

Investigators from the Durham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) are currently on scene at a shooting in the area of Rosemont Pkwy and Spring Gardens Dr. in Durham County.  A search for a suspect is underway in the area. 

One person was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.  Their current condition is unknown.
