Durham, NC - (3/1/2022) - On February 19, 2022, at approximately 1:15 a.m. deputies were dispatched to exit 280 on I-40 East (Davis Dr.) for the report of a person lying in the roadway. When the deputy arrived, EMS was already on scene providing life-saving aid to a seriously injured man. It is still unclear how the man ended up on the highway. He was stabilized and transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries where he remained until his death yesterday, Monday, February 28.

The deceased is identified as 55-year-old Michael Douglas. He has an at-large address and no known next of kin.
