Two Injured in Shooting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Durham, NC - (Friday, 11/5/2021) -  At approximately 7 p.m. last night Thursday, November 4, a vehicle in the drive-thru of the Burger King located on the 1600 block of US 70 in Durham County was struck by a bullet. The bullet broke a window on the vehicle and struck two children sitting in the back seat. The family fled from the area; taking the children to a local hospital for emergency treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 
Durham County Sheriff’s Patrol and Criminal Investigation (CID) division deputies responded to the area and began their investigation.  Witnesses reported hearing shots fired nearby at the time the vehicle was struck and it is believed that the family was not the intended target. No suspects were seen and no further details are available at this time.
