NEWS RELEASE

Durham, N.C.On December 31, 2019, a federal district court blocked NC’s Voter Photo ID requirement from taking effect. In the Durham Digest that went out with January water bills, it stated that an ID would be necessary to vote in upcoming elections. This was done in an effort to educate voters prior to the 2020 Primary Election. Unfortunately, the newsletter had already been printed and mailed before the court issued its decision.

Please note that the ID requirement has changed, and no ID will be required to vote for the 2020 Primary Election.

For more information on the elimination of photo ID for the 2020 Primary Election, please feel free to visit our website at www.dcovotes.com, contact us by phone at 919-560-0700, or email us at elections@dconc.gov.
