New Courthouse to Open Monday
All Courthouse Business Begins at New Location February 11

Durham, NC – Residents waiting to see the inside of the new Durham County Courthouse, located at 510 South Dillard Street, will not have to wait much longer. The new location for Durham’s court-related business will officially open to the public at 8:15a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013. No court-related business will be conducted at the old location for the Courthouse after Friday, February 8.
The following schedule will be followed, from February 11-18:
Monday, February 11 – Friday, February 15 Modified court schedule in new location:
• 510 S. Dillard St.
Building opens at 8:15a.m. Offices open from 8:30a.m. – 5p.m.
Monday, February 18 All courts and offices operating on normal schedule
• 510 S. Dillard St.
Building opens at 8:15a.m. Offices open from 8:30a.m. – 5p.m.
The 318,533 sqft. facility will house the Durham County Sheriff’s Office, Clerk of Courts, District and Superior Courts, Public Defender’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and Trial Court Administration. Representatives from Community Corrections, Criminal Justice Resource Center, and Juvenile Justice and offices for community agencies will also be located in the building.
Parking for the new location will be adjacent to the 11-story facility at the corner of Dillard and Roxboro Streets. The parking deck, featuring 897 spaces, will cost patrons $2.00 the first hour, and $1.00 each additional hour. The maximum cost for parking in the deck will be $10.00 for the day.
