Board of Elections to Extend Early Voting Hours on November 3

Durham, NC – The last day to vote early in the 2012 Election is Saturday, November 3, 2012. With three days left until the early voting deadline, the Durham County Board of Elections (BOE) has voted to extend poll hours to 3 p.m. on November 3. The closing time has been extended an extra two hours, from 1p.m. to 3p.m.

Since October 18, the opening day for early voting, nearly 75,000 citizens have voted in Durham. It is projected that high volumes of voters will continue to turn out to cast their ballots. The extended voting time on November 3 will give voters more time to make it the polls on the last weekend of early voting.

All early voting locations throughout Durham will adhere to the extended hours. Early voting locations included:

• Site 1 – Downtown Durham Museum of Durham History,
500 W. Main Street (Old DATA Bus Depot)

• Site 2- North Regional Location North Regional Library
221 Milton Road

• Site 3- South Regional Location South Regional Library
4505 S. Alston Avenue

• Site 4 – East Regional Location East Regional Library
211 Lick Creek Lane

• Site 5 – Southwest Regional Location Githens Middle School
4800 Old Chapel Hill Road

• Sites 6 & 7- Campus University Locations Duke University, Trinity Room
Chapel Drive on West Campus

North Carolina Central University, Student Union NCCU Campus
