2021-2023 Board of Elections Appointed; Baxton Selected as Chair

Durham, N.C. - One June 29, 2021, the State Board of Elections unanimously appointed Philip Lehman (D), Gregory Irby (R), Pamela Oxendine (D), and David Boone (R) as members of the Durham County Board of Elections for the 2021-2023 term. On July 14, 2021, Governor Roy Cooper selected Dawn Baxton (D) to serve as Chair of the Durham County Board of Elections for the 2021-2023 term.

On her appointment Chair Baxton stated, "I am very delighted to serve as Chair of the Durham County Board of Elections for the 2021-2023 term.  I look forward to providing secure and efficient voting opportunities to all Durham County residents." 

The newly appointed Board of Elections will meet on July 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. to be sworn-in and conduct other business matters.
