BOCC to Hold March 22nd Regular Session Virtually

Residents Can Access Video Live on Durham Television Network and Online

Durham, N.C. – Due to the ongoing social distancing restrictions in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will continue to hold its meetings virtually. The next Regular Session is Monday, March 22, 2021, at 7 p.m.

 

The virtual option aligns with social distancing requirements which ensures the safety of citizens who wish to participate as well as Board members and Durham County Government staff. Citizens who wish to view the BOCC meeting can watch it live on the Durham Television Network live on Spectrum Channel 8. The meeting will also be streamed live on the County’s website and on the County’s YouTube channel. Replays are available on DTN, along with AT&T U-verse Channel 99, Google Fiber Channel 8 and Frontier Communications Channel 70.

During the meeting, there will be one public hearing in which residents can sign up in advance to provide their comments on:

 

  1. 21-0203 – Public Hearing Regarding Not to Exceed $225,000,000 Limited Obligation Bonds, Series 2021A & 2021B

 

Residents wishing to comment on the public hearing must sign up by emailing the Durham County Clerk to the Board at mtoomer@dconc.gov no later than 2 p.m. on Monday, March 22. The call-in information for the public hearing will be shared to those individuals after they have emailed the Clerk.

 

Please note: According to the remote public hearing policy and procedures, the County will receive written comments in connection with this public hearing for 24 hours following the conclusion of the public hearing in compliance with state statute regarding virtual public hearings. At the April 12, 2021 meeting, the Board will consider adoption of an approving resolution authorizing the County to enter into the amendment.

 

Residents wishing to submit comments regarding agenda items should do so via email to mtoomer@dconc.gov by Sunday, March 21 at 12 p.m.
