Durham, NC (9/23/2020) - In continuing our efforts to disrupt and intercept drug trade in Durham and surrounding counties, investigators from the Durham County Sheriff's Office Anti-Crime and Narcotics Unit (SAC/Narc) seized approximately fifteen (15) kilograms of cocaine on Tuesday, September 22.
Members of the unit - along with the State of North Carolina Bureau of Investigation -conducted a traffic stop for multiple motor vehicle violations. During the course of the traffic stop,a Durham County Narcotics K-9 was utilized and alerted to the odor of narcotics. During the search of the vehicle, 15 kilos of cocaine was located inside the vehicle. The stash has an approximate street value of $600,000. Two (2) occupants were arrested as a direct result. The Sheriff's Office is not releasing their names at this time because this is an ongoing investigation.
