Durham Police assist in narcotics arrest, first appearance today.

Durham, NC - (December 23, 2019) On the evening of Friday, December 20, 30-year-old Marcel Antonio Williams of Durham was arrested and charged following a search warrant executed by the Durham Police Department's SET unit at the request of the Sheriff's Anti Crime and Narcotics Unit (SAC/Narc).The search warrant was executed at 201 Residence Inn Blvd.
According to investigators, upon entry into the hotel room, law enforcement located narcotics, a firearm and a large sum of money. Three minor children were also in the room at the time of the search warrant with access to both the drugs and weapon. Williams, who was out on pre-trial release from a previous arrest on October 17, 2018,by the Sheriff's Office for multiple drug-related charges and possession of a firearm by felon, was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of his arrest.Williams was transported to the Sheriff's Office and charged with the following:

Trafficking by Possession Opium/Heroin
PWISD Sch II Cocaine
PWISD Sch II Oxycodone
PWISD Sch IV Alprazolam
PWISD SCH VI Marijuana
Maintaining a Dwelling
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He is currently in the Durham County Detention Center without the benefit of bond and will make a first appearance today.
