WARRANT ROUND-UP NETS 29 ARRESTS
Durham, NC, April 11, 2013—Twenty-nine people were arrested on a total of 77 charges during a two-day warrant round-up operation last week in Durham County. The operation took place April 2-3, during which seven deputies focused on locating persons with outstanding warrants for failing to make child support payments.
Deputies attempted to locate 88 people during the operation. Of the 29 they did locate and arrest, many had multiple outstanding warrants. A breakdown of the outstanding warrants served by deputies:
Felony warrants: 3
Misdemeanor warrants: 26
Child support warrants: 14
Orders for Arrest: 52
Warrants for Arrest: 9
Magistrate Orders: 2
Deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Warrant Squad served nearly 7,000 warrants and arrested more than 2,900 people last year.
