Durham, NC – The Durham County Human Services Building, located at 414 E. Main Street, and Criminal Justice Resource Center (CJRC), located at 326 East Main Street, have been temporarily closed due to a lack of water service. At approximately 3p.m. today, a contractor working on the building hit a water main on Queen Street severing the main water line to the building. Citizens should note that evening classes at CJRC are cancelled for February 20, 2013.
The Water Management Department for the City of Durham has responded and estimates that repairs to restore service may take several hours. There is a chance that repairs will go into the early morning of Thursday, February 21. At this time, the buildings are expected to reopen with normal business hours on tomorrow.
