Durham, NC ─ The Durham County Department of Social Services will hold an agency wide training on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30p.m. During the training period, the department will be closed. The office will reopen at 12:30p.m. and resume normal hours of operation for the rest of the day.

The closing impacts all locations of Durham County DSS, including offices at 414 E. Main Street and 201 S. Briggs Avenue. The Main Street location shares a building with the Durham County Department of Public Health and the Durham County Veteran Services. The temporary closing of the County DSS department will not impact the rendering of services or supports from these offices.

To report child abuse and neglect or adult abuse and neglect during the all-agency meeting, Durham residents should call 911 and ask for the on-call social worker.
