Short Elected to NALBOH Board of Directors
Three year term in Director-at-large post to begin in January

DURHAM, N.C. – Durham County Board of Health member Dr. Nancy Short has been elected by the membership of the National Association of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH) to a three-year term in the Director-at Large position.
“The Durham County Board of Health is honored to have our member, Dr. Nancy Short, elected to the NALBOH Board of Directors,” said Sue McLaurin, Durham County Board of Health Chair. “She has served as a distinctive member on the board and I know that she will render indefatigable and devoted service in her new position as Director-at Large.”
Short, who serves in the Registered Nurse position on the Board of Health, is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Senior Research Fellow with the Terry Sanford School of Public Policy Health Inequalities Program at Duke University.
“I am honored to be selected to serve on the NALBOH Board,” said Short. “There are many opportunities and challenges ahead in the next three years as the Affordable Care Act comes fully to life. I am excited to be able to work with passionate and committed public health advocates to shape a better future for all of us. I also wish to thank the members of NALBOH for their confidence that I can help move the mission and vision of NALBOH forward.”
