Durham, N.C. – The Durham County Budget and Management Services Department is holding a contest for Durham County youth to draw the cover of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget Book. This contest is open to all Durham County residents in grades Pre-K through 12th – homeschool, private school, and Durham Public School students are all eligible. Everyone is encouraged to display their creative skills by showcasing “What is Your Favorite Part of Durham County?”
One submission will be chosen by staff to be the cover illustration for the FY 2025-26 Budget Book cover, which will be uploaded here. Other submissions may be used throughout the Budget Book.
To enter the contest, download and print the submission form and draw your entry using the theme “What is Your Favorite Part of Durham County?” Printed forms can also be picked up at Durham County Library locations during normal business hours, at the Durham County Public Information Office – located at 200 E. Main Street, 2nd Floor of the Administration I Building.
Entries are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Once you are done, submissions can either be uploaded via an online portal or using the QR code found on flyers and social media posts on Durham County’s official Facebook, Bluesky, Instagram, or Nextdoor accounts. Entries may also be dropped off in person at the front desk of the Administration I Building to be delivered to the Budget Office.
